CAMANAVA Cluster Acknowledges Catmon Integrated School's Exemplary Response to Climate Change

     Catmon Integrated School, located in Malabon City, has been recognized by the CAMANAVA Cluster for its outstanding efforts in managing the impacts of climate change.

     The school received recognition for its innovative solution and best practices during the Regional Climate Change Caravan.

    Schools Division Office – Malabon City included Catmon IS Best practices in a video presentation of CAMANAVA Cluster for Regional Climate Change Caravan (RCCC) on October 15 to November 17, 2021 as a run-up and celebration of the 14th Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week on November 18-25,2021 to be featured via Facebook on October 25, 2021.

    Through the efforts of teachers and stakeholders, the school was able to create a model for waste segregation and composting, which reduced the amount of waste being sent to landfills.         

     Additionally, the school established an urban garden where students and teachers can grow their own crops and learn about sustainable agriculture. .

    Catmon IS principal, Dr. Emelbon S. Mayrina, expressed his gratitude for the recognition and emphasized the school’s commitment to promoting environmental sustainability. “We are grateful for this recognition, and we will continue to work towards a sustainable future for our students and the community,” he said.
